UFC 136 - Tom vs. Marty vs. Joe by Tom , Marty and Joe October 6, 2011  Featherweight bout: Leonard Garcia vs. Nam Phan Tom - Nam Phan by TKO in Round 3 Marty - I'm going with the bad boy on this one. I think that working with Greg Jackson will eventually tighten up his Wildman style. We know he can go 15 minutes none stop, can Phan? I'm going with Garcia via unanimous decision. Joe - Phan was robbed in this previous contest. I see him getting it this time, Unanimous Decision. Lightweight bout: Joe Lauzon vs. Melvin Guillard Tom - The Young Assassin by KO in Round 1 Marty - We know that Guillard can "bang" with the best of 'em. But 7 of his 8 losses have come by way of submission. Lauzon has excellent Jiu Jitsu skills & in turn has won 16 of his 20 victories via submission. This is an interesting match-up. I'm going with Lauzon via submission in round 2. Joe - Gotta go with Guillard on this one. He's on a tear and don't see much that Lauzon can do about it. KO in Round 1. Middleweight bout: Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann Tom - Stann by KO in Round 3 Marty - I believe that everyone in MMA would like to see Brian Stann knockout Sonnen. The problem is that Sonnen is a veteran & I think he'll take it to the ground and use his superior wrestling. I go with Sonnen via split decision. Joe - This one is TOUGH. As much as I love Sonnen, Stann is a Jackson's fighter, so he'll have a superior gameplan. Keep it standing, stuff takedowns and he'll get the TKO in Round 2. Featherweight Championship bout: Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian Tom - Florian by submission in Round 5. Marty - This is my wild card pick folks! I'm going with K-Flo. Aldo is quick & dynamic but he gives up 3" in height & 4" in reach. For other fighters this may not be much but I think Florian will continue to improve on his striking & we all know about his Muay Thai skills. I'm going with Florian via submission in round 3. Joe - Aldo gets this one by TKO in Round 4. Florian just doesn't do well when there's a title on the line. Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard Tom - Frankie Edgar by Unanimous Decision Marty - I'm going with the Bully. He is bigger & stronger than Edgar. I feel that Edgar has superior stand up but I think Gray will take him to the ground & and showcase his wrestling ability. I'm going with Maynard via unanimous decision. Joe - The New Year fight was exciting. I see the rematch here ending differently. Gray Maynard by Decision. (Don't worry, he won't hold it long)
